"Voices of Hope" Article

The Voices of Hope festival was very interseting to me in a way that it was to help raise money for people or families that have cancer. Also, the amount of groups, bands and choirs that came to this event was amazing as far as support. This event started at 7:30 A.M. and exceeded untill 12:00 A.M. which is a long time and alot of singers to fill all that time in one day. Alot of the people that were there helping out and organizing this event were there all day as well which is good support and good deeds.

I am in concert choir and performed 5th hour. We performed 4 songs and sounded great. Concert Choir sang again later on that evening at 7:15. At that tome we sang 10 songs in which all those songs were the songs we had sung in MMEA the week prior to this event. Choirs from Rosemont, Falcon Ridge and other schools were there to perform. This was a great experience for me eventhough I dont have anyone in my family who has cancer it still felt good to know that im supporting people who have cancer.

Im in concert choir myself. Every competition we enter we always do a great job and recieve high superior ratings each time. Everyone that performed at Voices of Hope worked hard to achieve a meaningful performance and to put smiles on peoples faces. I also know it meant alot to evryone that was in the audience that day. So far, we have raised around $20,000 and our goal was $25,000. Mrs. Segan will still be accepting any form of money for the next couple of weeks. Meeting our goals expectations would be awsome, but raising more money than expected would be fantastic. This is also the first time we have ever done a fund raiser for choir. The unique thing about Voices of Hope is that it was an all day event from morning until night. It was expected to end at 12 at night and didnt end until 12:30 or 1:00. Once again we go past expectations.

"This was absolutley a great experience for me. We had bands from around Minnesota, choirs and staff from around Eastview to help and support this fundraiser for families with cancer" said Mark Gauger who is a senior in concert choir here at Eastview. "My favorite part about this whole experience was that it was interesting see how many other musical groups, choirs and staff members were here to sing for voices of hope. Everyone sounded great and it was a great way to end my friday." Each group/person that performed donated $10 to help raise money for cancer. It was a great idea overall and this is the first time that Eastview's choir has done a fundraiser. I was very happy to see how many people were there and were willing to perform in front of hundreds of people to raise money for peoples families with cancer. This, by far, was the best and most succesful fundraiser ever held here at Eastview.

"Three Types of Student Websites"
.Sites that are offensive, obnoxious & insulting.
.Also, sites that contain some sort of veiled threat of violence or of destruction of property.
.Sites that contain outright blatant threat.

Libel: An oversimplified definition.
.Publication of a "false" statement of fact that seriously harms someones reputation.
The Catch: Knowing something is true and proving it's true can be two different things.
